Cutting Edge of Fashion: Recent Acquisitions featured more than 60 garments from designers such as Alexander McQueen, Christian Lacroix, Issey Miyake, Rei Kawakubo, and Yohji Yamamoto. The show functioned as first presentation of many of the Indianapolis Museum of Art's recent acquisitions within the fashion collection. As a result, the designers and pieces featured spanned many time periods and styles. Presented roughly chronologically, the exhibition depended on the surrounding environment to provide the spatial organization needed to distill such diverse showing.
